چکیده

There is a small but important group of epileptics who live in the epileptic colonies and also at St Faith's Hospital, Brentwood, which is the sole remaining National Health Service Hospital dealing exclusively with epileptic patients. St David's Hospital, Edmonton, was a similar hospital for male epileptics, but it was amalgamated with St Faith's Hospital several years ago. Altogether about 3000 people live at the hospital and in the colonies. They tend to be underprivileged and unable to represent their own interests effectively. They are a group of handicapped people who cannot be fitted into and are not accepted by psychiatric hospitals or hospitals for the subnormal. Neither can they live in the community either at home or in other part III establishments.
